Spain explored ONLY South America while Vaca trudged our Southern States. His reports of wealth to be gained here would change that. Both Coronado and Hernando de Soto were profoundly influenced by Vaca's reports to them; Coronado in Mexico, DeSoto in Spain. Both would explore deep into North America; both would bring troops and animals with Old World diseases with them. Vaca never returned, but his influence over those who Conquered America would effect this continent forever.
